Financial Support

John and I are contracted with the Church of the Nazarene World Mission Department as Mission Corps Workers (MCW) assigned to Nazarene Theological College (NTC) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

We have followed God’s direction and taken a step of faith to serve Him at NTC.  John will teach Bible classes on campus and advise on-line students while he completes his Master degree in Adult Education and Instructional Design.  I will work as the Business Office Administrator for the college.

MCWs are self-supporting; we will not be paid by World Mission or NTC. We are responsible to raise our own funding.  Therefore, we have sold our home, automobiles and most of our personal belongings.  A few people have pledged monthly support or made one-time contributions, for which we are very grateful.

NTC is providing a nice, refurbished, three bedroom chalet with living room, dining room, full kitchen, bath and basic furnishings.

We are responsible for providing the following:

·         Transportation to and from the field (air fare)

·         Food

·         On-site travel (car)

·         Personal living expenses

·         Life and health insurance

·         Individual retirement packages

As Christians, our first financial commitment is to our local church for tithes and offerings.  As members of Fayetteville Church of the Nazarene in Fayetteville NC, we will continue supporting our home church with our tithes and offerings.

If you would like to contribute to our support and expenses after fulfilling the responsibility of taking your ‘first fruits’ to your local church, please follow the directions under “Contributions” on the ‘Contact’ page.

If God leads you to participate in our support, please know we are grateful.

Thank you very much.

John and Debby Scherer
